Marc Ferrer

He started playing the piano he was only 5 and studied the instrument as well as music theory at the Conservatori Municipal de Barcelona. Already when young, he felt interested in Blues and Jazz.

After playing in many and diverse formations, the year 1996 he began to play for Chevy & the Hot Wheels -today refounded as The Big Jamboree and edites three CDs.

 

He also played with Marc Ferrer Trio editing 5 CDs,  The Big 3, Velvet Candles (editing one CD), Big 5 and has worked next to musicians such as Big Dani Pérez, editing 3 CDs with him, Agustí Burriel, Pau Ruiz, Victor puertas, Santos Puertas, Joan Pau Cumellas, Artem Zhuliev, Benoît Poinsot, Ricard Gili, Oriol Romaní, Joan Antoni Puig,  Oscar Font, Gianni Gagliardi, Laia Porta, Artur Regada, Johnny Bigstone, Pere Miró, Marian Barahona, Paul Evans, Eugeni Muriel, and international artists as may be Dale Hawkins (composer of the mitic song “Suzie Q”), Barrence Whitefield,

Roddy Jackson, The Extraordinaires, Aisha Khan, Tommy Hunt, The Limboos, Drew Davies and J.D. McPherson.

He has played, too, in many concert halls among which the most important are La Boîte, Jamboree, Bel·luna Jazz Club, Milano Cocktail Bar, Marula, Casa Fusté, El Sol (Madrid)...

And he has played at many festivals, like Festival de Blues de Barcelona, Festival de Blues de Cerdanyola, Festival de Jazz Escaldes Engordany (Andorra), Santa Blues de Tenerife, Crossroads Gijón, Jingle Bell Rock (Alicant), R&R Festival Paris, Country Rock Toulouse, Rock & Roll Festival Attignat (France), Jazz Cittaducale (Roma), Moondogs (Ravenna), Hemsby (United Kingdom) and Rhythm' Riot (UnitedKingdom).

For many years he has been part in the Escola de Blues de Barcelona as a teacher.

Since 2018 he is producer of the Record Label Àmbit Records.

In 1999 hr participated in the film Swing in Catalonia for the Sputnik program on Canal 33  of Televisió de Catalunya and performed on several occasions in the TV Show "La Cosa Nostra" presented by Andreu Buenafuente on TV3 Televisió de Catalunya.

Recently, he has appeared at some TV3 (catalan public TV) shows, such as Ritmes i Blues a l'estudi and Cava de Blues.

 

Actually he is part of the musical bandof the weekly TV Show "Late Xou amb Marc Giró" on TVE1 Spanish Television, and he contributes  of the weekly radio program "Sitjazz de Víctor Ollé"
