Marc Ferrer Trio “3 Coffees”. Marccato Edicions 2015. Marc Ferrer es un excelente pianista dotado de un increíble talento interpretativo cuyo estilo abarca, entre otros, el rhythm and blues, el blues, el boogie, el jazz y el swing, que afloran de manera espontánea en la música de este hombre. Ahora nos presenta su primer proyecto en solitario donde nos descubre todo su conocimiento del género con trece canciones preciosas donde aborda con pericia y muy buen resultado los estilos antes mencionados. Composiciones en su mayoría del propio Marc se suceden con nítidos dibujos, riffs y fraseos dentro de un marco cálido y compacto. Ferrer y sus compañeros combinan un gran sentido del ritmo y del tempo, con un swing y una conjunción admirables en todas y cada una de las canciones que interpretan. Los músicos que intervienen demuestran su buen hacer y su destreza profesional, ya sea Agustí Burriel a la voz en un par de temas junto a la de Laia Porta, o Big Dani Pérez al saxo tenor en “Night Train” y “Barcelona In Blues”. La sección de ritmo corre a cargo de Pep Rius al contrabajo y Olivier Rocque a la batería, ambos dan el contrapunto ideal para que Marc brille con luz propia y a gran altura al piano. En definitiva, nos encontramos ante un disco lleno de enorme expresividad y mucha personalidad que ningún aficionado al jazz debería dejar pasar por alto. MUY BUENO.

 

Marc Ferrer is an excellent piano player gifted with an amazing performing talent, whose style covers, among others, rhythm and blues, blues, boogie, jazz and swing which spontaneously come out in his music. Now he brings us his first solo project where we will immediately discover all his musical knowledge, along thirteen beautiful songs where he cleverly approaches the above mentioned styles, always with an excellent result. Most songs are Mark’s own compositions and come with beautiful cool drawings, riffs and clear phrasing surrounded in a warm compact frame. Ferrer and his musicians combine a great sense of rhythm and tempo with an astonishing swing in each one of the album songs. All musicians involved show their musical skills on a very professional well teamed work, either Agustí Burriel vocals on a couple of songs together with Laia Porta, or Big Dani Perez on tenor sax in "Night Train" and "Barcelona In Blues". The rhythm section includes Pep Rius on double bass and Olivier Rocque on drums. Both give the perfect background to make Marc’s piano shine at a very high level. In short
